The Cluttered Mind

Any clutter

causing turmoil,

attempt to toil

and scrub keenly

rinse liberally

wipe cleanly

look gingerly

It’s Spring!

Remove the mess

missing calmness

too much there

too little where

it really counts

Futile movements

sight see

in your chi!

corners and  inspect

under crannies

do not tolerate

things that loiter

fester and disintegrate

left with useless rubbish

causing souls to tarnish,

losing life’s clear luster;

can be daunting

awful or amazing…

times even

Feeling outrage!?

don’t dispirit

seek a sage,

catch the culprit

of doom

and gloom

and misery!

trash the felon

forever gone !

Now, there’s room

for finer things

like hope and love

long-lasting peace

… and,

  1. Hi Cher, you explore the whole issue of clutter very well. It is an interesting concept I find. Like how did it get there in the first place. And why has it become such an issue as to clean it out. Does it then suggest you clean out to make room for more? I think you have raised an excellent discussion. But I do hope you personally feel better for the exercise. Take care.

  2. Hi Cher…a good spring cleaning is always a good idea…especially when we’re cleaning out some of the clutter accumulated over time from inside our mind! Liked what you’ve done here and it’s set me to reflecting!

      • Know what you mean…decluttering for me is a long long process…I keep stopping and looking and wondering…yes, no and sometimes the stuff just get moved 😉

      • Yep, sometimes I even go in the trash bag to get an item out and put in the “keep” pile and shove it in the back of the closet. Sheesh!! I should think more in the line of…if my kids have to clean up this sh….., would I want all this stuff here?
