intimate yet free
sucking on sweet nectar
hums the bird

unquenched thirst
wings a blur with such flurry
another blossom

time to rest
jagged edge of fragile twig
hummingbird’s perch

  1. we had hummingbirds for years build their tiny nests in our berry bushes. I’d marvel at their slim perches that other birds would break in a moment – a sweet hush lies about your verse waiting for these winged beauties to zi

      1. Could be … these moments do pop up from time to time .. I usually have the problem when my mind is distracted by problems or everyday chaos … which is why I usuallycan only write at dawn.
