I remember the first vernissage I was invited to and literally it means painting clear lacquer on a piece of furniture or floors…well, that was my use of the word in French until I learned another meaning and it was used in the English language too.

Yes, while I haven’t been to a vernissage, I ran into the word in a book series I like and read up about it. 🙂
