luscious blossoms spill
over balconies
white peonies
memories of her youth
when Mother was there
luscious blossoms spill
spreading their fragrance
nature’s free scents
over balconies
river breeze cools
unclad beauty

Zinnia is a genus of plants of the sunflower tribe within the daisy family. That makes me smile since daisies are my favourite flowers and sunflower is my nom-de-plume. This plant is native to dry grassland in areas from Southwestern United States to South America.
What a great way to end this blogging challenge with such a beautiful flower that is the second cousin to Tournesol.

Running in open fields, they skip and giggle trying to play tag. Suddenly the young girls stop to pick some flowers.

I love sunflowers, my nom de plume in French, Tournesol. Here is a Troiku created by Chèvrefeuille which is a series of haiku. To learn more about this form click here.
