Walking on her usual path to the bus stop, she rolls  her beaded bracelet with two fingers, whispering. At first she looks up at the sky, then notices the trees and branches waving shyly. Images of Amma floats in front of her, smiling…always smiling. Her mind is like a field of bumper cars going, coming and crashing. She has to slow down and whisper louder to block the distractions that clutter her mind.

Amma is known for her embrace but also for her compassion and humanitarianism

After several series, she is in her own world, sitting on the bus, watching the ice patches floating on the Saint Lawrence. Another mega bridge is being built parallel to the one the bus is crossing. All those men working in the cold. She shivers at the thought.

clouds holding secrets
Mother Nature knows
Snow, rain or hail

clouds holding secrets
Chaos in the world
Tears from heaven

Mother Nature knows
How it will all end
Sins we committed

Snow, rain or hail
March wavers tween two seasons
always be prepared

Written for Haiku Horizons: prompt is hail

Daily Moments – Sunday reflections – (troibun) A troibun is a term I use to term a haibun but rather than having haiku within the text, I have a Troiku which is a new form of haiku created by my mentor, Chevrefeuille at CarpeDiemHaikuKai

Spring is really here, she thinks as she walks along the boulevard. Finally, lawns are brightening from last season’s slumber. Dandelions are starting to poke their heads here and there, a sure sign of warmer times to come. Such a treat to walk outside in lighter clothes, no longer the weight of winter coats and fur lined boots, she ponders as she sneezes and wipes her teary eyes.

summer in the horizon –
grating lawn mowers

A Troiku is a new haiku form created by Chèvrefeuille at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai where  you will see daily meme for waka.

Daily Moments – floral reflections May 7 2017

Driving along the boulevard, she noticed trees with leaves! When did they grow so fast? The rain and warm spells must have helped. And then she passed a house with cherry blossoms…she wanted to stop and take a photo but decided to keep the image more perfect in her memory. She sighed wishing she lived closer to this house and then she saw a magnolia tree! Well, now, this was a lovely drive filled with promise. These beauties could certainly tie her over until the apple blossoms expected in the next three weeks.

all worth the wait
nature’s promise

She remembers, as a child,  in June asking her grandmother when the lilacs will be ready. Such a fragrant gift to share…

nature’s promise
yet,  just a hope
scents of lilacs
mid-June treasures
picked by teacher’s pet

Fleeting memories keep her in a state of grace…calm and content, such a lovely escape.

sparrows wait (troibun)

Such a lovely spring day to be in a park. An old couple sit on a park bench. The man leans on his cane, watching his life partner talk to the birds. Gnarled fingers toss seeds to the pigeons, then places a plastic bowl filled with seeds under the bench where grateful sparrows wait.

teeter-totter moans

dancing on blue canvas
how the wind sings!

(100 words)

Written for Heeding Haiku for Chèvrefeuille at MindLoveMiserysMenagerie.

We are asked to write a haibun of 100 words with the theme the circle of life.  I chose to include a troiku making my narrative and haiku a troibun.  To see what a troiku is, check at our host’s website CarpeDiemHaikuKai here.

spring draws giddiness (troibun)

As an extra to NaPoWriMo 2016, I noticed on Facebook, it is Haiku Day on the 17th day of April in this National Poetry Month.

Here is my Troibun …

Spring is definitely here!  It was the warmest it has been since last September at 20 C!!  Walking in that glowing sun even as late as 1:30, my heart felt so light!  Watching people out and about,  some  even wearing sandals and sleeveless dresses, you could not help but catch the fever of spring.

devious lures(haibun)

Crossing the bridge, she looks out the window of the bus and sees most of the ice has liquefied…a patch here and there as a reminder winter kept a stronghold on nature.  What an imposing fellow Mister Winter can be sometimes!

Vancouver, BC – Best places to Celebrate Cherry Blossoms

Ah the freshness of rebirth in Spring weather and she dreams of blossoms in April and Stanley Park in Vancouver.

Yet east of the country in Québec weather has its highs and lows…white as it may be, fluffy and unique in each detail, these snowflakes but still, SNOW is a four letter word!

lovers’ dreams (troibun)

Walking with a spring in her feet, she chanted softly feeling so free.  People sitting on park benches…couples confabulating
