Departure #23
A troiku is a new form of haiku created by Chèvrefeuille at Carpe Diem Haiku Kai.
Lazy season (troiku)
call to task
mid-summer harvest
suckling nectar
call to task
butterflies and bees
floating in sweetness
mid-summer harvest
making ready for,
season’s long sleep
suckling nectar
tirelessly collecting
honey’s essentials

Thank you…it is walking through the thicket behind our offices that inspired this troiku and trying to give you an idea of what I saw along the way I took photos…there were soooo many bees but I only saw one butterfuly. Since the city has dug out some plants and cleaned it up I have never seen my blue butterflies I used to see months after my mother passed. I think it was perhaps a coincidence and it was really my mother keeping me company until I was ready.

You are missing the morphos , they live in bushes and thickets , without them they simply vanish . I like your philosophy about the readiness of life !

I don’t think they were morphos…they were tiny butterflies…I saw the same ones for about 18 months after my mom passed and then…pfttt no more 😦

Awesome Troiku Cheryl. I had missed Troiku in your catching up post of a few days ago, but here it is … a troiku. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks, Kristjaan. Troiku has to come naturally for me. After I write the first and main haiku I wait to see if there are thoughts urging to get out. The 1 to 22 did not give me much time to do that and it would not have done troiku justice.

I love those ‘butterflies and bees floating in sweetness’, Cheryl! And I saw a very small blue butterfly yesterday on the salt marshes at Cley!
